What can I clean my play mat with?
We recommend using water and a clean, soft cloth. Should a deeper clean be desired, premixing a conservative amount of a gentle dishwashing detergent with warm water is advised.
Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, essential oils, baby wipes or abrasive cleaners as this will damage the outer layer of your play mat.
Can I use my play mat outside?
Of course! However, do not leave your play mat in direct sunlight as this will deteriorate the design. If you do take your play mat outside regularly, expect a slight discolouration to occur. It has been designed for indoor use but can be enjoyed on the odd occasion outdoors.
My play mat appears to have discoloured edges and surface, is this normal?
PU is a gentle, non toxic foam and it is within its nature to discolour slightly. We refrain from using colour stabilisers to ensure our play mats are free from harsh chemicals. You may notice slight yellowing along the play mats edges and in areas where there may be white, this is considered normal behaviour for our eco friendly foam. Heat and exposure to sunlight will encourage this process. Leave the play mat out of direct sunlight when not in use and refrain from using it outside in extreme temperatures. This process is more apparent on the lighter coloured play mats.
My play mats edges are curled, when will it flatten?
Once unpacked, the play mats edges naturally curl as it has been rolled tightly and packaged. It may also have some crease lines but rest assure it does settle flat. To make the process a little quicker here are a couple of handy tips you may like to try!
⠀ Use the mat on the reverse side (curling down) until the mat settles. This can take some time, using it whilst face down will help soften the foam.
⠀ Roll the play mat, tightly in the reverse direction to how it was packaged, use the elastic straps provided to hold it in position and leave it over night or longer, if possible. You may like to use two people to roll the family size in order to get a tight roll particularly on the first edge.
I'm not in love with my play mat, may I refund or exchange?
Yes of course! We want our customers to be happy with their purchase and so we offer 100% money back guarantee on our products. If you are returning for an exchange, shipping costs will incur. To read more, follow the link to our Warranty, Refunds and Returns page.
Important: A refund is not possible prior to shipment however, a change of design is accepted if time permits before dispatch. A refund is not permitted for delayed shipping.
If I purchase two will they align to create one large mat?
Yes absolutely however, we highly recommend purchasing two at the same time as slight colour variations do occur with age and between batch productions.
My Play mat is new but has creases/indentation on its surfaces. Is this a fault?
Once unrolled you may notice creases on the play mats surface. This is due to being tightly rolled for packaging and is completely normal. In no time the creases will disappear. Use of the play mat will encourage this process.
Often the hem on our elastic strap will leave a temporary indentation. This will disappear with use.

School Memory Book
I am in a different state, will it align with our school years?
Absolutely, 100% YES!
As teachers we are aware each state calls their Early Years slightly different names. Naturally Educators from each state need a term to unite these. The Australian Curriculum recognises these names on a National level as per the below. We chose to align our Memory Book with this. The questions on the reverse of the pockets for Kindergarten and Foundation are the same therefore if you are from the ACT or NSW and would like Kindergarten to be in place of Foundation you can easily switch the order of the pockets.
⠀ Kindergarten (also known as Kinder, Kindy, Preschool)
⠀ Foundation (also known as Kindy, Transition, Prep, Reception Pre-Primary )
⠀ Year/Grades 1-12
Can I add more pieces to the folder?
The file is the same as a Lever Arch file meaning you can snap open, insert and snap shut extra pieces you don't wish to store in the pockets.
What size paper can the file can home?
The pockets are made to fit A4 sheets allowing for an extra cm in order to fit in laminated pieces. Larger pieces can be folded and slipped in.
How much can the Memory Book hold?
A substantial amount!
However, to put a number on it is tricky! As the school years progress the keep sake, art, work pieces and awards naturally decrease so you may find you hold onto a fair bit more in the Early Years and these first few pockets tend to be a touch bulkier. The Memory Book was designed to declutter so we suggest keeping one sample piece from each subject for each year, a few of those adorable artworks, awards and certificates and that's it! We can assure it fits this! It will also house a Year book at the back of the folder and a USB for photos or digital works.
A snapshot of their schooling.
I am not in love, may I refund or exchange?

Sensory Tray
Is the tray waterproof?
The Sensory Tray is coated with a water resistant lacquer that repels liquid for short period of time. It is resistant but not water proof. If choosing to use the wooden tray for water, we recommend it is done so for short periods only.
Importantly, the tray must be thoroughly dried after use.
Please note, a ‘weathered’ look to the base of the tray will appear over time when liquids are used inside the tray often.
Once the lid is fitted, is it airtight?
An airtight lid is important for two reasons;
1. The contents of the tray drying up
2. Keeping those creepy crawlies out!
While the tray lid does have a little wiggle room once fitted, it is intended to allow the wood to expand and contract however it is not spacious enough to attract creepy crawlies.
It will keep play dough fresh and play time set for another day! #yay
We do not recommend keeping wet sensory play bases in the tray once play time had concluded as this may be soaked into the joins of the tray and as a result, damage the wood.
How do I clean my Sensory Tray?
We know things get a little (a lot) messy during play time so we hope to ease your clean up just a touch!
For dry play bases we recommend placing the lid back on to store for another day.
For wet, sticky, or messier play bases, we advise wiping out any solid materials immediately with paper towel. Following this, a hand rinse under cold water is suggested. To ensure your tray stays in good condition, dry thoroughly using a tea towel removing excess water, ensuring it is dry to touch, before setting it aside to air-dry further.
How many compartments are on the inside of the tray?
The Sensory tray has a main large tray and four individual inner compartments. These nest inside the main large tray or can be arranged on top of the lid.
Can the lid be used for sensory play too?
Absolutely! The lid is perfect for play-dough; rolling, cutting and kneading because of its flat surface. Every part of the sensory tray can be used, the question is how far will their imagination take them!
If I purchase the Sensory or Play Dough Tools, will they fit inside the Sensory Tray?
They sure do! Pop your tools inside your Mikró storage bag and pop the tray the lid on top! The only tool that is too large to fit inside the main tray is the large rocking cutter, found in the Sensory Tool Kit.
Are there any playbased recipes that are not compatible with the Sensory Tray?
There are so many recipes these days for sensory play and really it can be anything found in the cupboard, so testing all variations is near impossible. Therefore,
we recommend following three basic guidelines when testing something new.
*Does it fizz, heat or have any other chemical reaction? If yes, spot test in a smaller tray, or line the wooden tray with baking paper, glad wrap or similar before placing ‘science’ type sensory play inside.
*Do not leave the sensory base in the wooden tray after play time has concluded. Ensure your tray is rinsed thoroughly and dry immediately.
*Be aware and proactive if discolouration patches appear during play. Cease sensory play Immediately and rinse your tray. Dry thoroughly.
Wooden Puzzles
Will the puzzles dry out and crack with age?
We recommend oiling the puzzle board and number/alphabet pieces with a food grade oil such as olive oil or coconut oil, before first use. This will preserve your tools and keep them looking and feeling new
Can I use the puzzle pieces or boards for sensory play?
Absolutely, combining the puzzle board with scoops and sensory materials is another way to make a fantastic learning experience for your little ones. If using with playdough, water beads or similar wet ingredients, we highly recommend oiling the pieces and boards as per the above in order to prevent sticking.
What is the best age for the puzzles?
Puzzles are a great learning tool for most ages. Even of your little one isn’t yet ready for number and letter recognition, the concept of puzzles is a mathematical skill in its own right. Turning, flipping, sliding are all math concepts puzzles teach and therefore as long as your little one shows an interest you are presenting your child with an appropriate educational toy. There is no right or wrong age as long as they are not mouthing the pieces as this is a hazard.
Warning: Not suitable for children under 24 months. Choking hazard due to small parts.
Construction Blocks
Will the blocks dry out and crack with age?
We recommend oiling your blocks with a food grade oil such as olive oil or coconut oil, before first use. This will preserve your construction blocks and keep them looking and feeling new.
What is the best age for my child to start playing with the Construction Blocks?
Blocks are an iconic childhood toy. They spark curiosity, evoke open ended play and are ideal for children to play with from an early age.
From aprroximately 9-12 months your child can be expected to grasp the blocks, and from 18 months aquire the ability to stack and balance two or three wooden blocks. At 2 years and beyond, cooridntion will allow your child to stack multiple blocks and they will begin to use there imagination to explore imaginative play, etting creative-building structures such as forts, buildings, bridges and tunnels.
